A pink balloon reached Windermere.

7 June 2017

One of our pink balloons that we released on Friday before half term in memory of the 22 victims of the Manchester terrorist attack, has reached Windermere.

We recieved an email this week confirming this. Please see the email below:

Good morning, Jayne

We thought that your pupils and staff would be very pleased to hear that one of the balloons you released travelled more than 70 miles and found a lovely resting place on Windermere.

Three girls from Queen Katherine School in Kendal were out kayaking just before half-term and found the balloon on the tiny island of Silver Holme, just off the western shore of Windermere about three miles north of Newby Bridge. The island is used by nesting birds, so they approached carefully to collect it.

Regards
